Aug 31 — Rosatom CEO Likhachov said the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant has been
operating solely on its own diesel generators for 11 consecutive days and
described the situation as worrying. He said Rosatom’s estimate of how long the
plant can run autonomously differs significantly from the IAEA’s assessment.
Likhachov said continued Ukrainian shelling of roads to the plant has made fuel
dangerous deliveries; Rosatom is prioritizing diesel transport to secure fuel
supplies. The company said it is fully in control of the plant and accused Kyiv
authorities of trying to worsen conditions, and hopes to secure a ceasefire this
week to repair external power transmission lines.
