Russian Prime Minister Mishustin said on Aug. 31 the government has approved a
revised automotive industry development strategy through 2035 to improve the
effectiveness of sector policies. The plan sets priorities and targets including
a substantial increase in production across all segments, higher technological
autonomy and explicit support for the auto parts industry. It calls for greater
production automation to raise labor productivity, stronger protection of
domestic companies’ intellectual property and accelerated development of highly
automated vehicles.
