Tehran takes sanctions seriously and is stepping up economic efforts because it
is losing. He gave no timeline for a potential economic collapse, saying it
could take weeks or months and that collapse is not necessary — the aim is to
compel the regime to return to reason. Bessent added that the only way out of
debt is sustained economic growth.
