Iran’s army deputy commander for training and education, Brig. Gen. Ali
Ariannejad, told state-affiliated Fars News the armed forces have completed
required training and are capable of carrying out preemptive strikes. He said
Iran’s defense posture is officially defensive but that penetration and
offensive operations have been practiced across land, sea and air. Ariannejad
claimed the IRGC Aerospace Force successfully used ballistic missiles to
preemptively destroy a US command center at a Jordanian base after Washington
planned strikes from that base, demonstrating combat execution capability.
