U.S. natural gas futures rose modestly after forecasts showed temperatures
running hotter-than-expected over the coming weeks, implying increased gas-fired
power demand and higher air-conditioning use. Freeport LNG in Texas completed
maintenance and restarted last week, pushing gas demand for LNG exports to the
highest level since late June. Strong weekend production, with output near this
year’s highs, may limit upward pressure on prices.
