The China Association for Listed Companies said in its Aug. 31 2026 half‑year
operating report that, excluding suspended plans, 1,051 listed firms disclosed
2026 buyback proposals totaling more than 220bn yuan. Buybacks funded from
firms’ own cash account for 39% of planned amounts and the market‑wide buyback
completion rate is 34%. Market‑value‑management repurchases have risen, with
planned amounts above 100bn yuan and complementing incentive‑linked buybacks.
Separately, 273 companies disclosed 2026 share‑purchase plans; state capital
platforms China Guoxin and China Chengtong have cumulatively increased A‑share
holdings by over 60bn yuan year‑to‑date.
