Iran President Pezeshkian told the Bishkek summit that after roughly three
months of talks mediated by Pakistan and Qatar, Washington and Tehran signed an
Islamabad memorandum on June 28. He said the US broke its commitments less than
two weeks after the US president signed, calling the conduct greedy and
untrustworthy, and that Iran responded accordingly. Pezeshkian said Iran would
take immediate reciprocal action if the US resumed its commitments and
reiterated Tehran’s record of complying with international obligations.
