Iran said on Sept. 1 its armed forces had begun operations against the United
States, firing missiles and drones at US bases and interests in the region;
locations and targets were not immediately known. Multiple explosions were
reported earlier near Qeshm Island and the Strait of Hormuz; no casualties or
damage have been reported. US Central Command said at 12:00 ET on Sept. 1 US
forces began strikes on Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets inside Iran.
Iran’s Armed Forces General Staff said it would deliver a devastating strike
against US forces in response to US airstrikes on targets in Sistan and
Baluchestan and Hormozgan provinces.
