Iran's army said on Sept. 2 it launched "Operation Lightning" phase 30 at dawn,
deploying dozens of attack drones against radar installations and housing areas
US personnel at Al Dhafra and Al Minhad air bases in the United Arab Emirates.
The Iranian military said its "Arash" attack drone also carried out a
large-scale strike on radar facilities and US personnel assembly areas at Sheikh
Isa air base in Bahrain. Iran framed the action as retaliation for US strikes
that killed civilians, accused the US of committing "clear war crimes" by
hitting residential areas and a wedding, and warned responses would be
"sustained, wide-ranging and large-scale."
