After Russia imposed trade restrictions on Armenia, the EU on Wednesday
announced temporary measures to support and promote trade with Armenia. The EU
will temporarily suspend import tariffs on a broad range of Armenian products,
including some agricultural goods previously subject to tariff‑rate quotas; the
measures will liberalize roughly 80% of Armenia’s exports to the EU. Armenia,
historically close to Russia, is seeking to strengthen ties with Brussels and
Washington.
