China Coast Guard spokesperson Jiang Lue said on Sept. 3 the Putuo Shan ship
Formation routine conducted law‑enforcement patrols in waters east of Taiwan.
Since August the formation has intensified control of the area to safeguard
normal navigation and operations and to protect the legal rights and safety of
Chinese citizens, including Taiwan residents. The Coast Guard said it will
continue to strengthen enforcement patrols in waters under Chinese jurisdiction
to defend territorial sovereignty and maritime rights.
