At the close of the morning session, most domestic futures contracts rose, with palladium up over 4%, and silver, platinum, styrene (EB), SC crude oil, benzene, and gold all up over 2%, while nickel rose nearly 2%. On the downside, container shipping to Europe fell over 6%, coking coal fell nearly 4%, coking coal and plywood fell over 3%, fuel oil fell over 2%, low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) fell nearly 2%, and caustic soda and soda ash fell over 1%.
