MOFCOM spokesperson Huang Ling, responding to remarks by EU trade and economic
security commissioner Šefčovič, said China-EU consultations at all levels should
preserve a stable, balanced China-EU trade partnership and address concerns on
an equal footing. She said talks must not involve unilateral demands, imposed
conditions or threats such as market closures. Huang reiterated China has
told the EU to face its own economic and trade problems repeatedly and said
China is not the root cause and can be a partner in resolving them.
