At the Eastern Economic Forum on Sept 3, Putin said Russia-US contacts continue
and there is hope of achieving results. He said Russia supports fully restoring
relations with the US, but any cooperation with the West must be based on
equality and mutual respect. Putin added that Russia’s economic ties with Asia,
the Middle East and Africa are expanding, which helps mitigate sanctions
pressure.
