At a White House briefing, U.S. Vice President Vance said about 15 mln barrels
of oil transited the Strait of Hormuz yesterday and shipping traffic has nearly
returned to pre-conflict levels. He blamed elevated gasoline prices on Iranian
attacks on vessels and said the U.S. is taking multiple measures to pressure
Tehran to stop firing on ships. Vance added the U.S. has additional tools on
Iran—some President Trump will use, others will not—and said Washington will not
engage in talks until Iran ceases attacks on merchant ships.
