At the close of trading in New York, the euro was worth $1.1635, up from $1.1586 the previous day; the pound sterling was worth $1.3539, up from $1.3487. The dollar was worth 155.50 yen, down from 158.94 yen; 0.8068 Swiss francs, down from 0.8133 Swiss francs; 1.3788 Canadian dollars, down from 1.3841 Canadian dollars; and 9.5365 Swedish krona, down from 9.6250 Swedish krona.
