Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi said today the budget request for the next
fiscal year was published at about 143.1 tln yen. The annual budget, for the
first time, embodies the cabinet’s budget-formulation reforms — shifting away
from reliance on supplementary budgets and establishing a "Strong and Wealthy
Japan" investment framework for crisis-management and growth spending — and
positions the next fiscal year as the inaugural year of "responsible proactive
fiscal policy."
