The World Bank, in a report titled Building Thailand's Future released at the
2026 Bangkok Business Summit, says Thailand could become a high‑income,
innovation‑driven economy by 2037 if it accelerates productivity via technology
adoption, innovation, skills upgrading, higher domestic value‑added, more
competitive firms and efficient urban planning. The report estimates these
reforms could support average annual per‑capita GDP growth of 5.4% to reach
high‑income status by 2037 and urges policymakers to strengthen secondary cities
as growth hubs and make Bangkok more efficient, green and innovation‑friendly.
