Chief Executive John Lee will unveil the Hong Kong SAR Economic and Social
Development First Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) on Sept. 16. Speaking at a Hong
Kong Association of Banks event, Lee said that, as China enters the first year
of its 15th Five-Year Plan, Hong Kong’s plan is intended to integrate the city
into the national development agenda and to serve that agenda. He said the plan
will leverage Hong Kong’s role as a "super connector" and "super value-add" to
channel mainland capital and companies to global markets and to attract
international capital, technology and talent, and that the banking sector will
be a key partner.
