Sept 4, 2026 — DING XUEXIANG and Russian Deputy Prime Minister NOVAK co-chaired the 23rd China‑Russia Energy Cooperation Committee in Vladivostok. China urged: consolidate existing energy ties and promptly resolve enterprises’ operational and contractual issues to safeguard long‑term, sustainable oil and gas trade and ensure orderly construction and stable operation of bilateral projects; pursue new cooperation areas and frontier technologies, including exploring AI‑energy mutual enablement to broaden the scope and depth of collaboration; and jointly push reforms of the global energy governance system to enhance bilateral and global energy security and sustainability. The two sides reviewed cooperation across oil, natural gas, coal, power, renewables and nuclear, exchanged views on next steps and reported broad consensus on deepening cooperation.
