UK gilts fell after Bank of England Decision-Maker Panel (DMP) data showed
firms’ one-year own-price inflation expectations eased to 3.8% in the three
months to August from 3.9% in the three months to July. Economists at Pantheon
said the DMP print could prompt Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) members to keep
policy rates unchanged near term while awaiting further inflation data. The
10-year gilt yield fell from 5.171% to 5.140%.
