Data centers have been repeatedly targeted in the US‑Iran war, but Gulf
sovereign funds and state firms are pressing ahead with large-scale AI
infrastructure. An Abu Dhabi state-owned enterprise is advancing an AI park
expected to add about 5 GW of compute capacity and said it implemented
worker-protection measures during periods of intense fighting. PIF-backed Humain
is seeking $2.5bn of initial capital from domestic and global investors to build
Saudi data centers and plans more than 6 GW of compute; the company says
projects remain on schedule despite the ongoing war.
