US information-sector payrolls fell by 23,000 in August; the prior 12-month
average monthly decline was about 8,000 jobs. Computing infrastructure
providers, data processing, web hosting and related services lost 8,000
positions, publishing lost 7,000 and broadcasting and content providers lost
5,000. Market analyst Talmon Joseph Smith says the sector has shed more than
300,000 jobs since its 2022 peak, a fall of roughly 10%.
