President Trump told reporters at the White House on Friday the US sank "many
ships" through the Strait of Hormuz overnight, is moving large volumes of oil
out and controls the strait. He said the US may soon strike Gaoshan and is ready
to act; any deterioration in Iran's situation would be met with a heavy
response. Trump said the US has "basically taken over" Iran and described the
Iran issue as a military skirmish rather than a war.
