Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee will publish the Hong Kong SAR’s first
Five-Year Economic and Social Development Plan (2026–2030) and deliver a Policy
Address on Sept. 16. Lee said the five-year plan will set macro strategy, define
development priorities and align with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, while the
Policy Address will outline specific measures. He highlighted recent policy
focus on finance, innovation and education, citing efforts to ensure effective
operation of the gold settlement central system, build a commodity trading
ecosystem, continue attracting frontier global firms to the Lok Ma Chau Loop
Hong Kong park, and develop a Northern Metropolis university city.
