On Sept. 5 midday local time, air-traffic data showed a US government aircraft
carrying presidential envoy Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Kushner entered
Russian airspace and a motorcade reached Moscow’s Vnukovo airport. Trump
confirmed on Sept. 4 the pair will visit Russia and Ukraine carrying a proposal
to end the war. Speaking at the White House, Trump said the Ukraine crisis “must
be resolved," that he sent Witkoff and Kushner to Moscow and Kyiv "to see if
something can be arranged," and that it is "very possible" they will succeed.
