With typhoon impacts on land waning, southern weather will stabilize. Northern
cold air has become active; as an upper-level trough shifts east, early next
week the cold air will cross the Great Wall, bringing widespread rain and a
sharp chill. China’s Central Meteorological Observatory forecasts that from
tomorrow through the 9th light-to-moderate rain, locally heavy, will move
west-to-east across central–eastern northwest China, North China and
north–central Northeast China. Temperatures in the Huanghuai region and areas
northward are expected to fall 4–6°C, with parts of Inner Mongolia dropping
8–10°C. Daytime highs and nighttime lows across the north will largely mark
their lowest levels since H2; forecast temperature maps show the north shifting
from yellow to green.
