Washington needs time to implement sanctions before taking coercive measures. He compared this timeline to the urgency of military action in the Gulf region. Hood said, "It doesn't take time to fire on oil tankers in the Gulf right now; it only takes minutes." He described the U.S. approach as "imposing long-term sanctions on Iran's financial, monetary, and material aspects, supplemented by military measures aimed at weakening the Iranian economy."
