Changzhou Xingyu Automotive Lighting Co. on Sept. 7 announced management penalties tied to mishandling of new hires in early August. The company said General Manager Zhou Xiaoping will have 12 months’ pay docked; Deputy GM Li Shujun has been removed from HR duties and docked six months’ pay; HR Director Yu Zhiming was dismissed; HR head Li Mei has been demoted and reassigned. Local Changzhou authorities’ administrative penalty is expected to be announced separately. In August the company terminated contracts with 107 recent university graduates, triggering broad public attention.
