AirTrunk Operating Pty said U.S. tech giants, pressured by rising pushback at
home, are increasingly targeting Australia for data‑center builds because of
political stability, abundant renewable power, ample land and proximity to Asia
population centers. Sabu Whitlow, AirTrunk’s vice president for energy and
utilities, said interest from Google, Apple, Meta, Amazon and Microsoft has
outstripped expectations over the past six to eight months and is likely to
convert into firm commitments and investment in the coming months and years.
