Indonesia's transport ministry said four airports, including Jakarta's main
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, remain closed after an eruption of Anak
Krakatoa, with closures extended until 18:00 local time. Authorities had earlier
shut eight airports. The government has opened five alternative airports
operating 24 hours to handle traffic; about 170,000 passengers have been
affected. Ongoing volatile weather prevents a timetable for full resumption of
services.
