Hossein Ali Haji-Deligani, vice chairman of the 90th Principles Committee of the Iranian Parliament, stated that given the 20% loss in natural gas production from the South Pars gas field, an energy operating company should be introduced, and the government should be urged to plan ahead for winter gas supply. The imbalance between gas supply and demand should be addressed through a comprehensive package, including gradually adjusting tariffs, ensuring gas supply for ordinary citizens, controlling abnormal gas usage, and developing energy operating companies. The government should formulate a clear and time-bound plan for ensuring residential gas supply before the cold season arrives to prevent a drop in supply pressure. He pointed out that time is limited, and the winter gas supply, especially a stable supply to regions like Golestan province, should not be addressed only during the peak of the cold season.
