Iran foreign ministry spokesman Baghaei said on the 7th that talks with Oman to
delineate a secure maritime corridor through the Strait of Hormuz have made
significant substantive progress and are now in their final stage, despite
repeated setbacks from attempts by third parties to interfere. On Aug. 25 Iran
and Oman issued a joint statement saying they plan to establish a mutually
agreed secure maritime corridor in the Strait of Hormuz.
