AAA said the average U.S. regular gasoline price ahead of the Labor Day holiday
was $4.14/gal, roughly $1 higher YoY and above the prior Labor Day record of
$3.82/gal in 2012 — the first Labor Day above $4/gal. Brown University tracking
shows higher gasoline and diesel prices since the outbreak of the Iran war have
increased average U.S. household fuel spending by more than $741.
