Mohammad Sadiq Kerim, head of energy affairs at Iran’s National Planning and Budget Organization, said that adjusting gasoline prices could help reduce consumption in two ways: first, by shifting to alternative fuels, such as compressed natural gas (CNG); and second, by increasing the proportion of gasoline in household spending, which would gradually change people’s consumption patterns and travel frequency.
