The Baltic Dry Index (BDI) fell 53 points, or 1.4%, to 3,575, ending a three-day rise as Cape and Panamax freight rates weakened. The Capesize index (BCI) dropped 141 points, or 2.2%, to 6,286; Capesize daily earnings fell $1,283 to $53,508. The Panamax index (BPI) slipped 17 points, or 0.7%, to 2,431; Panamax daily earnings fell $157 to $21,878. The Supramax index (BSI) ticked up 7 points, or 0.4%, to 1,682, and the Handysize index (BHSI) rose 6 points to 906.

Jukan, a semiconductor analyst at Citrini Research, has shifted to a more positive stance on DRAM, following a bearish report released on July 3rd. Specifically, Citrini Research believes the fundamentals of DRAM are solid. DRAM inventories at US hyperscale manufacturers are already at low levels, with further room for reduction. Regarding prices, Citrini Research expects DRAM mixed contract prices to rise by approximately 10% quarter-over-quarter in Q4 2026 (compared to a high-double-digit increase in Q3). The fundamentals of NAND are weaker. While prices achieved high-double-digit quarter-over-quarter growth in Q3 2026, the increase is expected to slow significantly in Q4, recording only low single-digit quarter-over-quarter growth, due to weakening demand from mobile devices and high inventory levels.

The company said it will closely track downstream application demand, including data acquisition, and dynamically plan capacity layout to ensure a timely response if customer demand ramps. It noted IMUs are widely used in robotics data‑acquisition markets, which have significant upside but whose supply‑demand balance remains uncertain due to multiple factors. Huayi said it will monitor market developments and pre‑position capacity to safeguard stable order delivery.
