The Ramp AI Index shows that among the more than 50,000 U.S. companies it covers, 80.6% of technology and media companies have paid subscriptions to AI models, platforms, or tools, while the financial and insurance industry accounts for 73.1%. The manufacturing sector saw a rise to 60.4%, nearly doubling since early 2025, and the retail sector also increased by about 20 percentage points to 49%. This indicates that the demand for paid AI is spreading from the technology and finance industries to non-technology sectors such as manufacturing and retail. However, this index reflects the breadth of paying customers based on the adoption of corporate card and invoice payment recognition by Ramp's clients, and is not a nationwide business census, nor does it represent actual usage intensity, deployment scale, or return on investment.
