At HKEX’s China Opportunities Forum in Shanghai on Sept. 8, Shanghai Stock Exchange international cooperation director Zhang Bin said the exchange will introduce more flexible, targeted measures to attract long-term capital and step up outreach to sovereign wealth funds and other long‑horizon investors. Under coordinated guidance from the securities regulators in both markets, the exchange will push to include REITs in the Stock Connect beyond existing stocks and ETFs, actively promote inclusion of RMB stock trading counters, and solicit international investor input to explore optimizations in trading mechanisms, eligible instruments and investor thresholds.
