According to South Korean tech media ZDNet, Samsung Display has reportedly formulated a business plan to significantly increase its OLED supply to Apple next year, focusing on Apple's emerging OLED demand areas—foldable phones and iPads. Specifically, the target for foldable OLED supply will increase from approximately 8 million units this year to 15 million units next year; the supply for iPad OLEDs is planned to increase from approximately 2 million units this year to 9 million units next year. This means that the total number of OLED panels Samsung Display supplies to Apple for foldable phones and iPads will increase from approximately 10 million units this year to approximately 24 million units next year, more than doubling in size. However, Samsung Display's supply targets may still be adjusted at any time based on market conditions. Retail buying of individual semiconductor names last month dropped to more than 2 std dev below the historical norm. Retail purchases of semiconductor stocks and ETFs are marked lower than before the June–July selloff. AI-driven trading remains highly dynamic.
