China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said at a Sept. 8, 2026
national consumer-goods industry meeting in Shijiazhuang it will launch an
"AI+Three Products" special action to accelerate construction of a modern
consumer-goods industry system. Policies include building textile industrial
clusters and local specialty food production zones, promoting cross-brand and
cross-category smart-home interoperability, and cultivating/scaling an emerging
biopharma pillar industry and a future bio-manufacturing sector. The ministry
also ordered measures to upgrade the consumer market by implementing a plan to
better match supply and demand, fast-tracking high-quality development of
traditional industries, and running brand-promotion campaigns including a "Four
100" program to foster world-class consumer brands. Finally, MIIT said it will
strengthen national medicine-reserve management and continuity
monitoring/dispatch of key medical supplies to ensure supplies of shortage
drugs, table salt and new-standard e-bikes.
