Sept 8 — CHINA said at a regular briefing UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 solemnly affirms the one-China principle, restored the PRC’s rights at the UN and confirms there is only one Chinese seat, rejecting “two Chinas” or “one China, one Taiwan.” CHINA said Taiwan has never been and will never be a country, accused the Lai Ching-te administration of willfully distorting Resolution 2758 and of a pro‑independence agenda, and added those claims cannot change the historical and legal fact that both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one China or shake the international community’s firm adherence to the one-China framework.
