ZDNet reports Samsung Display has set plans to sharply increase OLED supplies to
Apple next year, prioritizing new OLED demand for foldable phones and iPad.
Targeted supply: foldable-phone OLEDs rising from about 8 mln panels this year
to 15 mln next year; iPad OLEDs from about 2 mln to 9 mln. Combined Apple supply
would climb from roughly 10 mln panels this year to about 24 mln next year, more
than doubling. Samsung Display’s targets remain subject to market conditions;
the key risk cited is a surge in memory-chip prices that has prompted Apple to
consider price increases and could change IT demand.
