A recent Educational Testing Service (ETS) survey found 54% of US workers feel
unprepared for new jobs over the next decade versus 49% globally. Seventy-five
percent said they lack a clear understanding of what jobs will look like in
2035. Fifty-eight percent said they fear being displaced in the future
workforce; the rate rises to 74% for tech workers and 73% for financial‑services
staff. ETS identified consistent causes across markets: limited experience with
emerging technologies such as AI, automation and data tools, and limited
exposure to innovation systems increasingly used in modern work. Some
visitors also worried newly acquired skills could become obsolete shortly
after learning.
