A demonstration line jointly built by the Institute of Process Engineering,
Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Ganfeng Lithium — the world’s first 500 t/yr
continuous tower‑extraction facility to separate low‑grade rubidium and cesium
co‑produced with specialty lithium ore — has reached stable, full‑capacity
operation. The plant produces cesium carbonate and rubidium carbonate at >99.9%
purity and has commenced commercial sales. Operators say the ramp‑up represents
a technological breakthrough for efficient, green processing of China’s
low‑grade associated Rb/Cs resources.
