PENTAGON’s Defense Casualty Analysis System said as of the 8th U.S. military
casualties in the Iran action total 838, comprising 18 killed and 820 wounded.
The site shows that since hostilities resumed in July there have been 4 killed
and 403 wounded. The database added an “overseas operations” tracking category
in July to separately tally casualties from July 7 onward. The Washington Post
reported the Pentagon said the code-named operation “Epic Anger” has ended, and
casualties from the new July campaign have been classified under the
overseas-operations category.
