Apple's upcoming first foldable phone, the "iPhone Duo," is generating significant market buzz. Nabila Popal, senior research director at IDC, stated that even at a price of $2,500, Apple's foldable phone will be a bestseller, especially given Apple's expertise in creating a sense of exclusivity, luxury, and scarcity. He predicts that even if foldable phones still only represent a small share of the overall smartphone market, the product will generate over $45 billion in revenue for Apple by the end of next year. Apple is expected to benefit from its late entry into the foldable market, having solved key engineering challenges such as maintaining hinge stability after thousands of opening and closing cycles and minimizing creases when the screen unfolds. Ansher Sager, an analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy, stated that Apple has already seen what works and what doesn't for its competitors, having tested numerous foldable devices.
