Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has instructed lawyers to sue a left-wing
Israeli newspaper, journalist Shlomi Eldar and others for defamation, saying
they fabricated claims that he received a warning from the UAE before Hamas's
Oct. 7 attack. The Prime Minister's Office, National Security Council and
military secretariat reviewed Netanyahu’s call logs from early September through
Oct. 7 and found no record of any calls with the UAE president. Netanyahu’s
office said Eldar’s earlier claim that Egypt warned the prime minister had
already been discredited early in the war and called the reports a political
timed malicious defamation tied to left-wing election campaigning.
