Russia’s presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sept 9 there is no formed
roadmap for mediating the Russia‑Ukraine conflict but Moscow has the politics
will restart negotiations and hopes trilateral Russia‑US‑Ukraine talks can
resume within a foreseeable timeframe. Peskov said Russian forces have pushed
forward along the contact line but are prepared to pursue peace depending on
Kyiv’s choice, accused Kyiv of lacking flexibility and of not genuinely seeking
a ceasefire, and said Ukraine remains relevant on some European countries intent
on strategically defeating Russia. He added that sanctions are on the mediation
agenda but are secondary to resolving the conflict itself.
