On Sept. 10 in Beijing the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) met
with senior executives from more than 60 US multinationals operating in China —
including Amazon Web Services, NVIDIA, Dell and Honeywell China — from
cloud/compute, industrial energy and consumer-pharma sectors. NDRC bureaus
outlined policy considerations in the 15th Five-Year Plan outline,
foreign-investment policy for the 15th Plan period, and reported implementation
outcomes of a new large-scale equipment-upgrade program and consumer trade-in
measures designed to boost consumption; officials also promoted Beijing’s
economic and investment environment.
