Fidelity International says Asia is entering a new growth cycle led by AI investment, energy-security spending and supply-chain diversification, keeping manufacturing and exports resilient. After years of reliance on external demand, Asian economies are shifting toward domestic growth; the key near‑term risk is whether external surpluses can be converted into broader domestic demand. Fidelity fund manager Ian Samson highlights mainland China’s diverse investment opportunities, with policy support accelerating advanced manufacturing, energy storage, optical communications and other strategic tech sectors. Equity exposure via ChiNext and STAR 50 offers access to these high‑growth areas, but rapid innovation and wide dispersion between sustainably competitive firms and those likely to face low‑margin competition make active stock selection essential.
